As for Jared...well, he has 2 small cavities. I fully expected him to because he doesn't like to brush his teeth. What I didn't expect was for the dentist, who specializes in pediatric dentistry, specifically children with special needs...to tell me that I needed to take Jared to Rainbow's to have his fillings filled! As if I don't have enough appointments with Jaime on my 2 days a week off....I'll get into that in a minute...now I have to schedule THREE additional appointments at Rainbows so that they can be fixed. She's not comfortable doing them in a non-hospital setting. Sooooo frustrating. Grrr....STUPID HEMOPHILIA! Jared's consult is scheduled for November 3rd, then we'll schedule his fillings after that. He'll need to get IV Factor before and after them. Well, if nothing else, this may make Jared think twice about not brushing his teeth. I will say that he's so freaked out about the fillings that tonight, he brushed, flossed and used mouth rinse without being told to. I thought that was hilarious! I hope he keeps it up so that these are the first AND LAST cavities he ever gets!
Here are a few pics of our dentist visit.
Jared getting his teeth cleaned.
Getting ready for his cleaning. NO, he didn't sit here, I held him on my lap against the hygienist's lap, but overall I thought he did really good! (No gagging, which is always a plus!)
All done, he was soooooo tired he kind of laid on the chair backwards while I was talking with the dentist.
As for me being busy with appointments...here's the story...for whatever reason, Jaime has decided not to cooperate with the therapists unless I'm home with him. Apparently, he screams, cries and makes himself throw up when the therapists are here with the nurses. I don't know why...or what changed, but something did and now I have to schedule all of his therapy appointments when I'm off...which is only 2 days a week...sometimes only 1 day a week. For example, here's what we did today...Swim therapy, followed by Early intervention OT, Speech and PT. (See, I have to take Jaime to Broadmore for EI therapy, so those, too are on my days off). Then, we came home to meet the CCF PT. Today, we Kinesio Taped Jaime's feet in hopes that he stays off of his toes. We're supposed to do it twice a day for at least 30 minutes at a time. I still need to schedule an appointment with the neurophysiologist, but I simply haven't had time to do that yet. After Jaime's therapist left, I put Jaime down for a power nap, took a shower...got dressed, went to Jared's school to pick him up to take both boys to the dentist. Tom met us there, brought the boys home and I went to work for the evening. See, it's CRAZY! Tomorrow I'm going to try and take Jaime swimming again and then his CCF Speech therapist will be coming over. (We have a rotating door here...I know that many of you with special needs kiddos can fully understand that!)Here are a few cute pics from the pool this morning. Jaime hasn't been there in a few weeks because he was sick and then the Cincy trip, so today was so much fun for him. He was slightly freaked out that there were other people in the pool (first time ever that happened), so he was pretty reserved for most of the time, but he still enjoyed it!

So, that's our day in a nutshell!!! :-)

Ah, it seems like you were quite busy. Going to the dentist with two young kids is not easy, so good job! Here's to hoping that those tooth-related concerns are fixed quickly.
