Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Appointments....

OK, so Jaime's "social" calendar is busier than mine!
This week he's due to go to the pulmonologist, pediatrician and ENT for a hearing test...along with all of his therapies. PHEW!

As for his Cincinnati tests....I've been talking to them a lot and it's been decided that Jaime will have his heart cath, bronchoscopy and sleep study in April. It will be either just before his birthday or just after! Happy 2nd Birthday, right? ARGH! It's for the best to get them all done and over with, plus we were trying to schedule them so that Tom won't miss too much work. My boss will work with me to make up my time and Jared's school is also aware that he'll probably be absent for a week. We'll see how it all pans out! They have 2 dates in mind to take Jaime to the OR...one works GREAT with Spring Breaks...the other...not so much! Fingers crossed that we get what we want! Keep in mind that we're trying to coordinate 4 drs.!

Before I'd go I just want to thank everyone for the Valentine cards and gifts that you all sent the boys! You are all too kind...those little guys are soooooooo S-P-O-I-L-E-D!!!
Valentine's Day 2010!
The boys with their Valentine's gifts...clearly one of them was eating chocolate before the picture was taken...HA! :)
Valentine's Day, 2011! Watching Disney Jr. My how far we've come! :)

Nothing else "exciting" to share...and I'd like to keep it that way~
Wishing everyone a lovely Valentine's Day...and for those of you who don't "celebrate" it Happy Monday! :)
