Jaime got his Synagis shots today, that's why he was weighed. He's still packing on the steroid weight, but I think this time it will stay! YEA! (For those of you who don't know, Synagis is a shot that preemies get (or kids with heart or lung diseases) to prevent RSV, a nasty respiratory virus.
Some latest news to tell about Jaime is that he got his Pencillin shot and it seems to have helped him. We are also in the process of setting up all of Jaime's appointments and tests in Cincinnati. He's going to have to see ENT, Pulmonary, Cardiology and Hematology so that he can have a sleep study, heart cath and another bronchoscopy. Hopefully that visit, which will most likely be a week long, will give us some answers in the end as to why Jaime keeps having respiratory infections and as to why he fatigues so easily.
The other news we found out is that Jaime's Prevnar Vaccine is low, so he needs to get a booster. All of the rest of his immunity tests came back NORMAL! Woohoo! The Prevnar vaccine is important as it helps prevent pneumonia. Since he had his penicillin shot last week and synagis today, I'm thinking he'll be getting that shot next week. Also scheduled for next week is his follow up hearing test and visit with the pulmonologist. Let's hope both of those appointments go well! We may be seeing the GI dr., too. Jaime's reflux is getting bad again. He won't take his Prevacid...he's eating more and drinking less during the day, but drinking all night long. His latest is waking up throwing up every morning. There is just no balance with this boy. We'll figure him out one way or another, though! :)
Here are some super cute photos of Jaime's new pj's courtesy of Grammy & Poppy for Valentine's Day! Thanks, G & P! Or as Jaime says, "unk-oo." (thank you) Yea, he's still pretty behind on speech, slowly but surely he's starting to repeat sounds, though. Enjoy the pics and if I'm not back on before Valentine's Day...hope it's a happy one! :)
Jaime seeing if any of his CDH friends are on the phone! ;)

Before I go, I'd like to invite any local women to attend the 5th Annual Women’s Health Expo, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, LaMalfa in Mentor. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. This is where I'll be. We have a booth set up to promote our Bariatric Surgery Program at Geauga Medical Center. It's supposed to be a very nice and informative event and best of all it's free! Come on out and drop by my booth:)
Have a GREAT weekend!
