Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Heart Cath!

Well, it's officially been scheduled! Jaime will be having his heart cath on Thursday. It was a bit all of the sudden, we have lots to do to get ready, so this will be brief. Please keep Jaime in your thoughts and prayers as he, once again, goes back to the OR. Please keep his little CDH buddy Carter in your thoughts, too. He will be having a heart cath next week as well! The boys will be back in Cincy together again...though I'm not sure they'll actually see each other, but the same cardiologist will be caring for them both just the same!!! Thank you!
Big Boy practicing going up & down the stairs!
How do I look?
Ha, ha, Momma got me both the hat & the pinwheel! :)
Finally, just a reminder that March is both CDH Awareness Month (in particular, March 31st) and Hemophilia Awareness. Please wear your turquoise (CDH) or red (hemophilia) or both of them together and tell someone about these birth defects! The more people that know about them, brings us one step closer to cures for both of them! Jaime and Jared truly appreciate it!
Wish us luck this week! :)
