Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving toddler who has beaten the odds!

Hemophilia Walk 2011

This weekend was the Annual Hemophilia Walk! I am pleased to say that our team, Jared & Jaime's Afterburners raised nearly $1700 in donations! Also, the Hemophilia Walk itself generated nearly $43,000 for Hemophilia Research, education and advocacy. THANK YOU to All who supported our team and those who walked with us! We had a BEAUTIFUL day! I can't wait to do it all over again next year! We're already making pre-walk breakfast plans and Jared's coming up with our new logo! Speaking of our logo...Our team won for BEST TEAM T-SHIRT! Jared got to go in front of everyone to receive a trophy for our team! Way to go, Titi and Jared-our team t-shirt designers! :)
Below is a slideshow of pics from our weekend! We started with a pre-walk party and ended at the Walk! Those included in the pictures are Jared, Jaime, Tom, myself, Titi, Michael, Scott, Jess, Connor, Sophia, Colleen, Ed, Connor, Lauren, Sue, Gloria, Julianna, Dominic, Jessica, Alexis, Ellie, Jordyn, Nana, Papa, Cindy, Jim, Laelle, Ann Marie, Tiffany, Megan, Dr. Ahuja, Steve (RN), Dave, Katie and baby Anna! Thanks again for all of the support that you have shown us, it means a lot to us!
