Even though the last few weeks have been quite challenging...to say the least...we are a far cry away from where we were last year this day...being readmitted to the NICU for reherniation.
Who could forget this infamous photo...taken of Jaime's chest x-ray, post upper GI and swallow study? Ahhh...the glowing bowel sitting in Jaime's chest...the very thing that was missed during our 3 week hospital stay in Cleveland...caught by our dear friends in Cincinnati.

Here is Jaime today...exactly 8.8lbs more and 6.6 inches bigger than he was one year ago at the age of six months!In these photos Jaime's sporting his new "bubble fish" mask...and he's even learned how to help prep his own aerosol. What a trooper!

Happy 18 months, to my little CDH Warrior! :)He's still on the mend, but overall doing well. He ate like a champ today...several cavetelli's for lunch and some soup, bread and puffs for dinner. I even bought him a "big boy" sippy cup that he did well with...it's one that doesn't have a separate spout. I'm going to gradually ease him into using it. The current ones do not have replacement spouts, so when he bites through them, I have to purchase a whole new cup...it's getting quite expensive.
As for developmental skills...Jaime's walking, climbing, he just learned how to ride his "bike" forward, he's learning to throw and kick balls, too. His speech has been really behind, most likely due to the hearing issues, so he's not saying any new words except, "car." He's learned to tolerate many textures and he can put the spoon in his mouth if you put the food on it. He's still eating soft textures or minced pieces of food (with the exception of meat, it's just too hard for him). The key goal here is volume! We'll get there...

I am amazed with Jaime's progress. He is doing so well. Maybe he could explain all this to Emily who is 15mo older and only 2-3 lbs heavier!
