Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Inauguration Day!
President Obama becomes the 44th, President of the U.S.

We also had another appointment with my "real" OB, Dr. Varyani.
She did the routine stuff and then talked to us about our next steps. We told her that we were thinking about going for a consult in Cincinnati at the Fetal Care Center there because we weren't 100% confident with the RB&C doctors. She agreed that we should obtain as much info as possible before making a decision to terminate or go forward.
At this point, 5 1/2 months pregnant, Tom and I DID make our decision, and that was to go forward. Our decision was made based on good amnio results and our determination to find the best possible hospital to deliver Jaime at.
