Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

January 2nd - 8th, 2009

Most of this week was spent on the phone back and forth with the doctors to plan our next step! We settled on a Fetal MRI for Thursday, January 8th, 2009. Jared stayed home with Titi and off Tom and I went! The MRI took almost 2 hours from meeting with the radiologist, who personally scanned me to being scanned (just about an hr. & a half in the tube...YUCK!).
When we came home, Titi headed back to Columbus, remember she had been here for an entire week. A week spent waking up super early courtesy of her nephew jumping on the bed and playing toys on the living room floor!
