Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Feelin' Fine!

Both boys are feeling fine...so fine that they both played outside today...Jared MUCH longer than Jaime (Jaime was only out for maybe a half hour, Jared was out for several HOURS!)
Jared on his Slip-N-Slide.
Jared & Jaime in the "pool" part of the slide.
Jaime's wearing the very outfit he wore last year in the NICU (it's a size 3 mos.) It's my FAVORITE outfit...glad he was able to wear it again! :)
Jaime playing in the pool. I need to sew his bathing suit, that's why he's not in it. Oh and we need to get swim diapers, too!
Jared showing Jaime how it's done!
He didn't once run into Jaime. What a good big bro!
Jaime showing Jared how it's done! HA!
Why yes, those ARE baked beans on my face! My second night in a row chomping down 1 1/2 tablespoons of them! They are YUM-MY!
All is getting back to normal here! I got lots of much needed Vitamin D...and a tan, as well as lots of rest, so, I, too am feeling GREAT! Jaime was up twice the last two nights, which is a much better than all of the previous nights. Hoping this trend continues...that's all we can do, right? :)
Tomorrow will be a busy day, as I have LOTS of appointments to try to get scheduled and Jaime will be seeing his pediatrician, too. Tom has yet another concert tomorrow night...the third of four! His schools are almost out for summer...as is Jared's!
That's all to report...I will try to post tomorrow...I have lots of homework to do, too, so we'll see!
Thank you for all of the well wishes sent to the boys...other than both of them having "snotty" noses, they are both doing GREAT!

Until next time...enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather! :)
