Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Pool Time Fun!

For those of you who haven't seen my Facebook page...here are some pics from today. Jaime went in the pool for the first time...and LOVED it! He's feeling better...and Jared's bruises, after SEVERAL doses of Factor are FINALLY starting to look better. (For those of you who didn't know, Jared had 2 injuries during the week....one was a monkey bar hitting his eye giving him a giant shiner and the other was a split lip from falling off of his bike....this amongst several other leg bruises and cuts.)

Hoping everyone has a safe, fun and happy holiday weekend! My parents are in town, we're going to go to the Memorial Day parade and to my brother's house for a cook-out on Monday...should be lots of fun! :)

    Hopefully all that fun in the sun and pool will have Jaime sleep well at night. Sorry abut Jared's injuries.
