Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Quick Post!

Jaime ate 2 Nilla Wafers, half of a grape, a quarter of a pop tart, 2 pasta noodles and a tiny bite of a meat ball! All of the above were with his speech therapist except the pasta and meatballs!
Here are two funny pics of Jaime during dinner! Not sure if he liked or hated it, but he finished everything I put on his tray!

In other news, today was eventful for Mr. Jared. He told me last night that his foot was hurting, I looked at it and his malleolus, the ball on the ankle bone was blue and swollen! I took him out of school early to go to the drs. He had x-rays, they were negative for any break...YEA! However, it's been determined that he has a joint bleed. :( He has to rest, ice and wrap it. He will also be getting lots of Factor over the next few days. He will be staying home from school tomorrow, but will hopefully be back on Thursday. To look at him...running and jumping around, you wouldn't know he has any pain, but to see his foot. OUCH! All we can say is that Jared has a high pain tolerance....must get it from his mommy! :)
Here's a picture I took of Jared's ankle while he was on the x-ray table. He wanted to see what it really looked like from our angle! Again, ouchy!
That's all for today! Good night, all!
