Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

From reuniting Jaime & his CDH buddy Carter Adler, to visiting with some of the staff at Children's, continuing on with a cook-out at Bev's that included FIVE Cincinnati CDH Miracles....Ryan, Anna, Ethan, Colt, & Jaime...ending with dinner at Skyline and a midnight swim! Enjoy!

  3. Great pictures! Your family has certainly had a busy, but I'm sure fun few weeks, traveling. Jaime and Jared both look very happy and content with all the visits with so many special families, as well as your own relatives. Jaime may be tiny, but his smile and personality make up for his small structure. My youngest grandson will be a year old on the 28th, and he is totally normal, and only weighs 18.5 lbs. He has started to get fussy with foods also. Funny thing is, Braden, like Jaime is always smiling and laughing. I have some extra pounds, that I would be more then happy sharing with both boys!

    Hugs!
