He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Another CDH Angel

It is a very sad day, Jackson Beal, born on July 29th, lost his battle with CDH today. He fought very hard, but his little body just couldn't overcome the pulmonary hypertension. CDH is such a horrible birth defect, taking the lives of 50% of the babies diagnosed with it. There is no cure, nor any rhyme or reason as to why babies even get CDH. These little ones are so innocent. It's awful watching families go through this journey, especially when it ends this way. I know that all families affected by CDH feel as though they lost one of their own when this happens. I also know that those of us with CDH survivors count our blessings every single day! We can not begin to imagine what the Beal's are feeling, but we will lend them our support in any way that we can.
Please keep Jackson's parents, Rob and Candice and his big brother, Ty in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you!
