Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

A Better Jaime, for sure....

After dropping Jared off with Titi, we went back to see Jaime. He was acting so much better. We're hoping this uphill trend will continue.

Hopefully we'll have a good day tomorrow and we can start to wean the nasal canula off of Jaime. It's been at room air, so it's not like it's helping all that much anyway.

P.S. Jaime weighed in at 9lbs 8oz tonight, he's getting so big!!!

    Have that hospital put some pasta/meatballs and good Italian sauce in a blender and feed this little guy. Glad he's growing so well, he really is a good looking boy.

    Don't let some petty virus get you down. They are usually short lived.

    Glad Jared is having fun with his aunt. Little Joe is still with us, and enjoying summer. He wanted to "go to Jared's house" this morning - we told him where you were and that you would be home soom (hopefully).

    Glad Jaime is doing well - and these virus although not good in anyone - especially a CDH baby - well - are usually short lived - I agree!

    Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers - and those there rooming near Jaime too!

    I'm so sorry I'm just now posting. As you know, things are a bit crazy in this CDH world. I can't believe how much Jaime has changed since the last time I logged on. I'm glad to hear he's doing well. Praying hard that y'all are home soon.
