Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

Dare I say it...Jaime's Feeling Better!!!



We haven't been up to the hospital yet today, as we are currently driving Jared to what I call our "custody drop-off," with Titi. She has offered to take him for a few days to give him a break from the "boring" hospital. It's very dark and rainy on this drive, we totally appreciate Titi making the trip today. Thank you soooooo much, Titi, you're the best Auntie ever!!!!

Now, on to Jaime...he did look better last night and even squeaked out a few smiles. He did have an issue with digestion and his 6:30 feed was held. That made for one hungry, not entirely happy baby until his feed. Apparently he slept from 2:00 A.M. until 8:00 A.M. He woke up had his bottle, fell back asleep and as of 15 minutes ago, he was still asleep. Kristy thinks that overall he seems better. He does not have a temp today, nor did he through out the night. Nothing was changed in rounds, the drs. will be d/c-ing his antibiotics tomorrow and will wait to see what happens. Hopefully, fingers crossed...we will be back on the right track....HOME!

Please continue to send positive thoughts and prayers to our Cincy CDH Friends, especially Carter and Gia (counting Jaime, there are currently 6). Some of our other CDH friends that need your prayers who are not in Cincy include: Kamryn, Emily and Baby Jackson (on the way).

    Hello, very glad to hear that Jamie is doing better and HOPEFULLY will be home soon. Little Joe is ready to teach Jamie how to talk, he wants to share his vast seven years of experience with both of the boys.

    I wish you all were making the drive north and going home!
    I'm sure Jared will have lots of fun with Titi.
    Good to see Jaime looking better, little sweetie!
    Be careful driving back from Cbus, we are getting tons of rain and they are predicting worse weather later!
