Today, we started our day down at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital...Jared had an appointment. We took advantage of being down there and visited Dr. Corteville (my maternal fetal medicine dr. who diagnosed Jaime) and Jennifer (the ultra sound tech who initially found the defect.) Both girls were thrilled with how great Jaime looked. It was fun to see them and visit with some of my old co-workers and the hemophilia team in the process.
Other than that, there's nothing really new to report, we're just heading down to Cincinnati again tomorrow for one of Jaime's follow-ups! We're hoping he checks out OK, we're also hoping he gets his O2 weaned to 1/4 liter, as he is satting between 98%-100% most of the time. Another hope of ours is to get rid of some of his medication. We're not entirely sure he needs all of it. We were told that they were going to do a nutrition analysis on him, as he has osteopenia. He will need to add Calcium and Vitamin D to his diet. Hopefully, they will add these as supplements and not change the formula that he's already on! We'll see!
Finally, the last thing we're hoping is for the drs. to look at is Jaime's "cervical preference." Jared had torticollis and we fear that Jaime is right on track to follow suit. The therapists in the RCNIC said to just keep an eye on it, well since we've been home, I feel it's gotten worse. We heard that when you go to high risk clinic (which is where our appointment will be tomorrow) that you meet with a whole slew of people...drs., therapists, dietitians...etc. I imagine overall there will some changes happening!
We are planning on leaving early tomorrow to make our 1:00 P.M. appointment. Titi already took Jared down to Columbus, as we will be staying with her tomorrow night.
(Thanks Titi, for lending us your house again!)
The best part about tomorrow will be seeing our RCNIC CDH friends, whom we miss so much and some of the wonderful people who cared for Jaime. The rule is...one must visit the RCNIC on appointment days...that's exactly what we're planning on doing! Can't wait to see everyone!
Jaime just fell asleep, so I'm off to bed, too, it's going to be an early morning!
Good night....

You all have been BUSY! Jaime looks great!
ReplyDeleteWe have always followed the "rule" even though Ryan was in a different building when he was in the RCNIC!
Gosh, he gets more adorable each day! Good luck tomorrow, sounds like you will all have a full plate!
XOXO
