Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

A Few Pics of our FAVORITE Boys!

Jaime's still doing "well" all things considered. Tom's up at the hospital with him now...neither of us seem to be able to sleep, probably because we're so over tired, we CAN'T sleep. So, Tom said if he was going to be awake this late, he was going to sit with Jaime for a bit! He said that Jaime is fast asleep! I did tell him that Versed and Morphine will do that to you...LOL!
Ashely, Jaime's night shift nurse, "bathed" him tonight for us. So, he'll be all squeaky clean when he meets his Poppy (my dad) tomorrow. Grammy and Jared will also be back for a visit. This time, Jared's going to stay with us for a while.

Speaking of Jared, my friend Jenn, from Cleveland, sent him a Batman laptop today. Titi sent me pics of him playing with it, he seemed to enjoy it! He was excited to get a special present in the mail! Thanks, Miss Jenn!

Here are a few pics of the boys from today (Friday). Believe it or not, Jaime's face IS getting better. It just looks a little "wet" from all of the ointment on it!

Enjoy,

Sheryl
