Just Another Manic Monday!

Hi Friends and Fam,

Mr. Jaime's day was quite eventful. He started off this morning with blood draws, x-rays, and an echo cardiogram. During the x-ray, Jaime decided to desat down to 7 and his heart rate was 50. He had to be "bagged" by Christie. She got him back pretty quick. (Heck of a way for her to start her shift, huh?)
After that, Jaime had to have his picc line dressings changed. He has 2 lines, both area have sores on them and were very red. He didn't like them messing with the sites at all. Then, he had to have all of his dressings changed. Derm came to check on him, they didn't change anything and over all his skin looks GREAT! Next, it was time for rounds. We still didn't have the results back from anything, but the drs. were thinking that maybe surgery can be Friday. His rate on his vent was dropped again and it was decided that he be on his antibiotic for 21 days.

After rounds, Grammy and Poppy came for a visit before heading back to Columbus to catch their flight back home to Maryland! Thanks for coming guys and for bringing Jaime his Pooh Blanket and giraffe. (Not to mention the "goodies" for Jared!)

This afternoon, we got the echo results...Jaime's pulmonary hypertension was 50%, still great, so they took him off of his Flolan. So, he's just on the vent, antibiotic, TPN, Lipids, Versed and PRN Morphine. Oh, and we found out that Mr. Jaime is just about 6lbs. 2oz and he's gotten a bit longer, too.

Jaime's heart rate was beginning to slowly increase all day, even with his PRN meds. His temp was up a little (99.9), but came down pretty quickly when he was unwrapped from his blankets. His O2 is at 37% (it was down to 26% at one point today), his sats were good. He is on the verge of needing a blood transfusion, but they are holding off for now. By later this evening, his heart rate was back to his normal, and he was wide awake for his one on one visits with us. (Tom and I take turns being with him at night after Jared goes to sleep.)

So, overall it was a very busy day for our little guy! We're hoping that tomorrow is a little more calm for him.

P.S. The pics were taken this evening when Jaime was alert looking at his toys, sorry that they are a bit blurry, Jaime doesn't like the flash and there is a delay in the camera without it. Jaime was cute, he was trying to reach for Pooh earlier, but the mittens stopped him. HA!
