Yep, that's right folks, Jaime is 70 days old! We can't believe it!
He's an awesome baby, that's all I can say!
Today, he was weaned to the regular nasal canula (no more high flow) at 1.5 liters and his feeds were up to 72mls/hr. He's on the feeding pump for 1 hour and off for 2 hours. At the end of the 2 hours, we can try a bottle feed, then he's back on the pump. He toyed with the bottle, but nothing too significant today. However, he DID tolerate the 72mls/hr without incident. Woohoo!!! We may actually have a baby who doesn't have reflux...what a change from Mr. Jared, huh?
I gave Jaime a bath all by myself today...he really does enjoy his baths! After his bath, Ann and Noelle (Speech therapy and Occupational therapy) came to show me different feeding positions. Jaime took 2 mls. from the bottle, then went to sleep. Pastor Eric came for a visit, too.
The HIGHLIGHT of MY day was going to Carrie's apartment for pasta! We couldn't help but to see the humor in all of this. Carrie and Jeremy are from Indiana and rented an apartment in Kentucky, so they are completely displaced, too. Well, they are living off of paper and plastic products (way to help the environment, Carrie! HA!)
Anyway, Carrie pulled out her best china...(or was it chinette) for me. We laughed and both photographed our dinner presentation...it was too funny. I just had to share it with all of you! Yep, this is how we eat at our "summer" home! Thanks, Carrie, dinner was delicious, in spite of our bizarre situation! :-)
Back in Cleveland, Tom got creative with Jared. He found some black pieces of paper and gave Jared white and yellow crayons, from what I hear, they created quite the city streets for Jared's Hot Wheels to drive on. Tom even found some sign stickers to add to the "town." He sent me this photo on my phone. Too cute!
Well, I'm off to bed, Ann said she may call me early to feed Jaime in the morning.
Enjoy the photos!
Love,
Sheryl
P.S. Carter A., Carter M., and Gia are all doing GREAT! We also have 2 new CDH families, one boy and one girl. Please pray for them as they begin their CDH journey in Cincinnati. Thanks!
