Jaime Albert Trost was diagnosed with Right-Sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia at 19 weeks gestation. He was born at 34 weeks gestation on 4/16/09 as a hemophiliac with his liver and intestines in his chest. Jaime had his 1st repair surgery at 23 days old. He re-herniated in September 2009, causing his bowels, kidney and liver to be up in his chest. He had his 2nd repair surgery at 194 days old. Though Jaime still has many medical challenges ahead of him, today he is a thriving KINDERGARTENER who has beaten the odds!

The Video You've Been Waiting For...
So, I thought I'd finally try to post a video from Jared's new video camera. This is just a small clip Jared took on Monday, June 15th of Jaime. Kristi was holding Jaime and talking to Jared during the video. It's pretty cute...you can even get a sense of what Jaime sounds like when he cries...or should I say how he revs up his engine!
Jaime is doing OK today. He's comfortably sitting at 3 liters O2...woohoo!!!! We're getting there! He's still having some issues with bowel movements. They sure don't come easy for him. He got some prune juice and then had a few poopy diapers, he even threw up once in the midst of his grunting. The drs. bumped him up to 24mls an hour and he's still on 28 calories. His formula is fortified and honestly it is so darn thick, it's no wonder why the poor little guy is having issues.
Anyway, that's my update!
Hope you can view the video, it's pretty cute.
Have a good evening,
Sheryl
