Exciting News!

First let me start this post off by welcoming Mr. Carter (LCDH) into the world! He was born at 11:51 A.M. 5 lbs. 15 oz...yep, and he was full term! (Jaime would have been HUGE if he went full term!) Please join me in sending prayers for Carrie, Jeremy and Carter as they begin their CDH journey here at Children's with us!

Second bit of "exciting" news...Mr. Jaime had another echo today. The drs. wanted his pulmonary hypertension to be sub-systemic (somewhere between 60%-80%), well, Mr. Over Achiever Jaime, decided that he'd be better than that and was at 41%. This is really good! So, having said that, surgery is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, but may get bumped up to Wednesday! We should know more tomorrow! We're very nervous about this, but we know that Jaime can not live without it, so all we can do is hope and pray that things work out well for him! Keep your fingers crossed and your prayers coming!!!! Oh and Jaime has discovered a love for the pacifier. It's funny to watch him suck on it even with being intubated.

Third exciting thing that happened today is that Jared got to meet Ronald McDonald in person! He had fun giggling and playing with him! Ronald came to the house for the start of the Grand Opening to the new wing here at RMH.

Next, we had a morning visit from Bev (Anna's Mom-LCDH), she came baring gifts for BOTH boys! Thank you Jeanie and Bev for the WONDERFUL gifts! (Jeanie, you and Ryan need to come up for a visit sometime!) Bev it was great to see you again and thank you for sharing your scrapbooks with us, they were adorable!

We ended our day having a yummy ice cream treat courtesy of Grammy (thanks!) at an exit off of 71 N., where we met Titi and Grammy to swap Jared! (It's half way between Cincy and Columbus).

Tom and I drove back to Cincy and said good-night to Jaime, who was still doing well and even had his O2 down to 30%-room air O2 is 21%. He does have some skin break down around his mouth and on his right foot-they are thinking that it might be from the dressings (tape) they are using for his vent and his picc line. There is a skin team that will check him tomorrow. I'll keep you posted on what we find out! Other than that, all and all, Jaime's doing well! We're hoping to keep it that way pre and post-op! :-)

Well, I'm off to attempt to do some homework. Thank goodness my professor has been understanding through all of this!
